Our Role in this project

1. Food Trail Map

  • Increase membership to the Gympie Gold Regional Produce Website
  •  Researched and called local growers, producers, growers and value adding businesses and encouraged them to join the website which provides free membership and allows access to industry news and updates as well as free listing onto the Regions Food Trail Map.
  • Researched local distributors, retail outlets, accommodation, restaurants and cafes selling locally sources products and also encouraged them to sign up to the website under their specific categories this also gives them access to industry updates and free listings in the Food Trail Map and other Council run initiatives .
  • Worked with the GRC graphic designer and Lynne Wilbraham (Economic Development Manager for the Gympie Regional Council) to create the Food Trail Map
  • Launched Gympie Region Food Trail Map – this is available in local Tourist Information Centres and online at www.gympieregionalproduce.com.au
  • Ongoing work with regions agribusiness industry

2. Eat Local Month 

  • Project Management of Inaugural Eat Local Month Events
  • Liaison between GRC and other key parties involved in events being run throughout ELM
  • Worked with the GRC graphic designer and Lynne Wilbraham (Economic Development Manager for the Gympie Regional Council) to create ELM Brochure
  • Co-ordination of Booths for GGRP at ELM events
  • Worked within limited Budget
  • With the success of the Inaugural Eat Local Month this is now set to become an annual event on the Gympie Regional Councils calendar!

3. Town Centre – Local Growers & Producers Market

  • Project Management of the creation of Local Growers Market of the Gympie Regional Council
  • Liaison between Council and Growers and generation of participation
  • Creation of application form and procedures for Market – Signed off according to Council Guidelines
  • Liaison between Council departments to ensure all processes in place for road closures
  • Launch of Local Growers Market – including set up on day and the promotion both online and in print media
  • Success of inaugural Growers Market has now seen it become a ongoing monthly event and grow in size to become a local Growers, Makers & Creators market
    • Strict guidelines are in place to ensure the credibility that products sold are either grown or made locally!

4. Trade Shows

  • Helped develop kit and processes for trade shows
